James Stafford is the founder and creative force behind SeaChange Cosmetics, a luxury biomineral haircare line produced in the United States. His path to the beauty industry began in Northern California, where he graduated from Elk Grove High School before pursuing higher education at Sonoma State University. It was there that his passion for business and personal artistry converged, leading him to enroll at Marinello Beauty College — where he developed the technical foundation that would define his professional career.

After earning his cosmetology licensure, James quickly distinguished himself in the industry through a series of progressively senior leadership roles. As Area Salon Manager for Regis, he oversaw multi-location operations, driving performance standards and team development across a regional portfolio of salons. He then brought his expertise to Ulta Beauty, where he served as Prestige and Boutique VIP Sales Manager — leading high-end brand partnerships, luxury client experiences, and sales strategy for one of the nation's premier beauty retailers. His tenure continued at JCPenney as Salon Manager, where he directed day-to-day salon operations, staff training, and client service excellence.

With over 12 years of experience spanning every sector of beauty commerce — from technical services to retail leadership to brand development — James channeled that breadth of knowledge into founding SeaChange Cosmetics. Today, as a nationally accredited colorist and brand ambassador for JOICO/ZOTOS International, he operates SeaChange Cosmetics & Wellness PLLC from its own salon and wellness studio at 400 Expressway, Suite E in Missoula, Montana, providing precision color and haircare services exclusively with JOICO Color and SeaChange products. His career reflects a singular commitment to craft, quality, and the transformative power of the beauty industry.
